Missha Waterproof Sun Milk Spf 50+/ Pa +++

4/29/2011

Time is moving so fast and I have run out bottles of sun cream. so now.. please let me write more about my next sunscreen : Missha Waterproof Sun Milk Spf 50+

Silver full bottle: Missha Waterproof Sun Milk spf 50+
Gold (sample): Missha Soft Finish Sun Milk spf 50+

Missha Sun Milk has a very simple packaging. It is designed in a slim white plastic bottle with a silver wide flat cap, like it!! It slim/flat bottle is making it so "handy" to carry on my bag while travelling.

Another good thing I noticed from the package is its small mouth. It is built a good squeeze, so the lotion comes out very well without wasting any amount. Well organized and hygienic.

right: Missha Soft Finish Sun Milk spf 50+ (a very pink nude lotion)
left: Missha Waterproof Sun Milk spf 50+ (white lotion)

By the way, I also tried Missha Soft Finish Sun Milk (sample feature) for a week. Both are having a similar texture besides the color; light texture that absorbs very well and non fragrance. For me the difference between both of them is in oil control. Missha Waterproof is oil free, and the other hand Missha Soft Finish is resulting a moist full sense and looks.

Im sure that you've already know if the topic of sunscreens are available in a large number by searching on the internet, but most informations are sometimes conflicting of which ingredients and spf number do the best in protecting against the sun heat.

Recently, the label of "safe-block", "spf 50" and "waterproof" on Missha Sun Milk is forced me to find some article and sources which giving me good information about in which category does Missha Sun Milk is belong: A sunscreen or sunblock.

The quotation goes like this:
Although it is a common misconception[citation needed] that sunblock and sunscreen are both the same, they are not. They have similar properties and are both important in caring of the skin, sunblock is opaque and is stronger than sunscreen since it is able to block a majority of the UVA/UVB rays and radiation from the sun, thus not having to be reapplied several times a day. Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are two of the important ingredients in sunblock. taken from wikipedia.

From the same source, you can also collects the important ingredients of a sunscreen/sunblock should have (a very informative source.... hehehe...)
Finally, base on the high number of spf and its ability to block the sun rays, I basically rated Missha Sun Milk as a sunblock :) And the number attached on the label is dramatically suggested as a "hint" : an SPF of 50 means that however long you can naturally go out into the sun before you burn, just multiply that time by 50.

I only good for about 45 mins, so that would give me 2250 mins, or 37.5 hours assuming that I don’t sweat or get wet. If you’ve been out in the sun for that long and haven’t reapplied, you’re in trouble. But the question is who needs to stay outside under the sun heat for 37,5 hours? cause I don't.

    1. Thanks for the information hon ^^
Lately, i found that number attached after SPF is the extra time of sunscreen product will allow persons to stay outside before they start burned. read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunscreen.
And yes, i made a narrow suggestion by assuming spf 50 will made us abble to stay in 50hours without giving a good explanation, my apologize :)
However, number attached after spf is sunscreen ability to provide a fair skin person more protection for their exposed skin than if we dont use it.
for example: if a person starts to burn after 10 minutes in the sun, after correctly applied SPF, number of 15 will provide protection for 10 times longer or 150 minutes. In this case, "get burn" itself is also depending on personal situation and activities.
So based on this understanding, another examples i made for conclusion is:
case 1. when somebady claimed that she/he start to burn after 10 minutes whitout applying a sunscreen, so after applying spf 50, number of 50 will provide protection for 500minutes.
case 2. when somebody claimed that she/he start to burn after 1 hours whitout applying a sunscreen, so after applying spf 50, number of 50 will provide protection for 3000minutes.
Hope this argument can make u understand what i mean in this post ^^
By the way, thanks for sharing. am still learning how to deal with products and what their purposed exactly. more suggestion and information will noted with thanks! :)
